Jesse S. Shapiro is the Manager of the Workers’ Compensation Practice at Kornbluth, Ginsberg and has devoted more than two decades to representing injured workers throughout North Carolina. Since being admitted to the North Carolina State Bar in 2000, Jesse has built a reputation as a tireless advocate for employees whose lives have been changed by workplace injuries and occupational diseases.
Board Certified Workers Compensation Specialist
A North Carolina State Bar Board Certified Specialist in Workers’ Compensation Law since 2007, Jesse is among a select group of attorneys recognized for their extensive knowledge, experience, and professionalism in this highly specialized area of practice. Throughout his career, Jesse has represented thousands of injured workers before the North Carolina Industrial Commission and has handled claims involving catastrophic injuries, occupational diseases, denied claims, complex medical issues, and significant settlement negotiations.
Before dedicating his practice exclusively to representing injured workers, Jesse gained valuable experience defending insurance companies and self-insured employers in workers’ compensation and personal injury litigation. This unique perspective provides him with a deep understanding of how insurance carriers evaluate, defend, and resolve claims—knowledge he now uses to advocate aggressively on behalf of his clients.
Awards and Recognition
Jesse has earned statewide recognition for his work in workers’ compensation law. He has been selected as a North Carolina Super Lawyer in Workers’ Compensation, an honor reserved for attorneys who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. He has also twice been recognized by the North Carolina Advocates for Justice for “extraordinary service rendered and in furtherance of the preservation of justice for injured workers in North Carolina.”
Beyond his courtroom practice, Jesse is deeply involved in shaping workers’ compensation law and policy throughout the state. He currently serves as Vice President of the North Carolina Advocates for Justice Workers’ Compensation Executive Committee and is a Committee Member of the North Carolina Bar Association Workers’ Compensation Section. These leadership positions reflect his commitment not only to his clients but also to advancing the practice of workers’ compensation law and mentoring fellow attorneys.
